When I walk, I move forward by placing my feet, alternating one by one on the ground, pushing backward. Using my hamstrings, I am pushing Earth away from me, back toward where I was.
I’m staying in the same place, but my mighty hamstrings push the entire planet backwards. The illusion is that I am moving forward on an immovable surface, but I’m the one who’s stable and Earth is the one that is moving.
Now it begins to rain. Once again, I am immovable. It is Earth that is moving, or actually, the sky is falling, bringing the rain with it, to fall upon stationary me.
I’m spinning the Earth under my push. Or I’m moving the sky downward, bringing the rain.
This is some tiring work.
I don’t do pushups. I do Earth downs.
