any two states
Heading due east on our way to the high point of Kansas — yes, Kansas does have a high point — we cross the Colorado/Kansas state line. This transition occurs at a city called Kanorado. Great name, a portmanteau of KANsas and ColORADO, as if you couldn’t already tell.
What fun! Some time in the past we drove through a town at the Florida/Alabama border called Florala. Amazing!
Don’t stop me, I’m on a roll. I want lots of towns named after the two states they have in common. These don’t exist but how about a town called Wyomado or Utizona. Or even Orefornia (sounds dirty) and Montanaho (sounds slightly less dirty.) The possibilities are endless.
To enhance your experience, say the names out loud.
I wanted to name my website, The Arkanippi Files but Lisa wouldn’t let me. She has much better judgment than I have.
While we’re here, behold some city names that have not yet made it.
Oklahosas
Iota
Georgiama
Kentiana
Georgalamasee, the tristate point of Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee
Arizonico
New Hampusetts
Oregonia
Idevada
If Lisa would let me use The Arkanippi Files I bet all wars would end.
